JOHANNESBURG – Qatar Airways is set to acquire a 25% stake in Southern Africa’s regional carrier Airlink.
The acquisition deal was confirmed on Tuesday, following a meeting between airline executives in Doha.
The deal is expected to bolster Qatar Airways’ growth strategy in Africa.
Qatar Airways has had its sights on an expansion in Africa for some time, but played its cards close to its chest pending the finalisation of the deal.
