Cash-strapped Pakistan to repay UAE debt this month, but from where will Shehbaz Sharif get the money?

Pakistan has decided to repay the entire $3.5 billion debt it owes to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) within this month. According to a News18 report, the decision was taken by Pakistan’s Finance Ministry to reset the long-standing creditor-debtor relationship between the two countries.

The move comes at a time when speculation was growing about the future of the debt after Abu Dhabi recently shifted its policy and placed the loan on a month-to-month rollover basis. In the past, the UAE had regularly extended…
